. While the current one has not windshield and no doors, KTM is planning both of these modern features on its next version of the car. The new car is due in March 2013.

Adding the windshield means that the car must have a de-mister and windshield wipers. The car will still not have a full roof, but there will be a cloth roof that can be clipped on. However, the cloth roof is not really going to be meant for driving, it is if the driver is suddenly caught in the rain.

KTM is also considering expanding its chassis building facility to build chassis for the Le Mans LMP2 class. The owner of KTM, Stefan Pierer, also owns carbon fiber maker Wethje that will be building the monocoque for the upcoming Porsche 918918 Spyder Gen.1Porsche 918 Spyder Gen.1Germany, 2010 > present1 Version

. Wethje would team with KTM to also create the tubs for the LMP2 car if the project goes forward.
