Land Rover offers the Freelander 2 with two tunes of a 2.2l diesel engine in the UK: either 190hp in the SD4 or 150hp in the TD4. It also has an eD4 two-wheel drive version with 47.1mpg fuel economy. It has a base price of £22,250.

The Halewood factory was opened in 1962 with the first car completed in March, 1963.
