The EXP9 F has not even been confirmed yet, but Land Rover sees the same niche in the market for super high-end SUVs. Both trucks would likely retail for around €200,000. "We have a chessboard approach to the market. We look at where we are and see if we can go left, right, up or down to expand. So, for example in terms of looking up, does the fact Bentley is doing an SUV present us with an opportunity? I think it does.
"The Range Rover is a phenomenal car and I think there is the potential to move it further upmarket," said Land Rover Brand Director John Edwards.
Land Rover is aiming against a moving target in terms of the EXP9 F. Bentley has said that the styling has changed compared to the original concept car.
According to Edwards, Land Rover might boost power slightly if it built the truck, but the biggest change would be wider options to personalize the truck and higher end materials.
