, but it has not shown the production version of the car yet. However, the look is previewed by the LF-CC concept.
The racing version of the IS Coupe, called the LF-CC, has been filmed testing in racing trim for next season's Super GT GT500 class.
During the car’s debut in August Toyota’s head of motorsports development Keizo Takahashi said: “Our racing car is based on the ‘Lexus LF-CC’ which was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in September last year. LF-CC is a concept model of a 2-door, FR coupe, sporty entry car that is expected to join the Lexus lineup."
The GT500 class will unify its rules with the DTM next season. All of the cars next season will use a hybrid 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 550hp and a standardized carbon fiber monocoque. The hybrid system works as a push-to-pass system to provide an extra 50hp. The DTM cars will continue to use 4.0-liter V8s for next season, but the chassis and technical regulations between the two series will be otherwise identical.
The video makes the car sound fantastic on the track with the exhaust popping and turbo whistling.
