The big reveal for Lexus at the New York Motor Show will be the sixth generation ES. Lexus has been tweeting about the car, and it has revealed some new facts about it.
First, it is referring to the car as the ES350. Whether this means it will stick with the 3.5l V6 with 272hp is unknown. Mercedes and BMW have stuck with the same alphanumeric name despite changing engine displacement over the past decade. So an engine upgrade cannot be ruled out.
Lexus also tweeted two teaser images of the ES350. The first shows a crane bringing the car into the show, and it does not show a lot other than the wheels.
The other image tells a lot more by showing the rear. The styling is taken from the new Lexus GS with a chrome strip connecting the narrow, squinting tail lights.
The first image that Lexus released showed the driver's front corner of the car revealing the LED running lights and spindle grill.
The next generation ES350 will be unveiled at the Lexus press conference at the New York Motor Show on April 4 at 11:20am.
