The Tokyo Auto Show is coming on December 3, and the first reveals are already coming. Mazda released the first images of its Takeri Concept mid-sized sedan today that could show the future for the Mazda 6.
The Takeri's exterior starts with a chrome strip that borders the front grill and moves all the way into the headlights. The grill echoes the appearance of the rotor of a rotary engine. The front fenders bulge out in an even more aggressive way than the current Mazda 6. The rear has a similar chrome strip that is part of the tail lights similar to the front.
The interior is less radical than many concepts. There is a three-dial instrument cluster in front of the driver, and an infotainment screen mounted in the center of the dashboard. It is well-styled, modern and airy but quite realistic.
The Takeri is, like most concept cars, also a chance for Mazda to introduce its most advanced technology, and the Takeri is no exception; it has Mazda's full suite of Skyactive techonolgy. This includes Mazda's regenerative braking technology. to help power the car's electronic equipment.
