Mercedes-Benz has released a new ‘Grand Edition’ version of their largest SUV. The new car will be available with all of the engines currently available in the GL line up and comes with the specific aim to provide “a level of spaciousness and comfort that is on par with a luxury saloon.”
The ‘Grand Edition’ will be recognisable by virtue of its dark tinted headlamps, black radiator grill and high gloss louvers. Mercedes-Benz have also redesigned the front bumper and integrated LED daytime running lights. Further visual highlights are the new 20” wheels finished in Himalayas grey metallic, heat insulating and infrared-reflecting laminated glass and the addition of aluminium look running boards complete with a new exhaust tailpipe trim.
The GL ‘Grand Edition’ will still seat up to seven occupants but Mercedes-Benz has tried to create a more luxurious atmosphere inside the car. Two tone leather seats with piping are standard trim with the option of nappa leather. Comfort headrests also come as standard as do ambient lighting and a roof liner in black design fabric. The floor mats and centre console will feature ‘Grand Edition’ badges and lettering to enhance the stainless steel sports pedals and stainless steel door sill panels.
