Mercedes E300 BlueTEC Hybrid Receives Environmental Certificate

has received an Environmental Certificate for its Life Cycle Assessment from the independent inspectors of TÜV Süd. The certificate shows that over a 250,000km lifetime that the E300 BlueTEC Hybrid will produce 23% less CO2 than a comparable E300 CDIMercedes-Benz E 300 CDI B...Germany, 2009 > present2 photos

The E300 BlueTEC Hybrid combines a diesel engine and hybrid powertrain. It uses as little as 4.2l/100km and emits 109g/km of CO2. An E300 CDI uses as little as 5.8l/100km, which is a 28% reduction. 

The car is also made from 41.5kg of recycled components and another 21kg is from natural material. It is also 95% recyclable at the end of its life. By 2015 all cars built in Germany must be this recyclable.
