. It will be the largest factory-supported team in the rally. The Silvretta E-Car Rallye takes place in Montafon, Austria, in the Austrian Alps from July 5-7.
Silvretta is not a rally for speed but a time and distance rally. That means that each stage has a time limit that the drivers must complete to within a hundredth of a second. The cars receive penalties if they are faster or slower than that time. The rally challenges drivers to a 330km route, 30km longer than last year. Portions of the route have as much as a 15.2% gradient and 4,759m of elevation change.
The SLS AMG E-CELL will launch next year and be driven by ex-Formula 1 car driver Karl Wendlinger in the rally. It has 525hp and 880Nm of torque.
Mercedes will also have a Smart E-Bike at the rally traveling select parts of the route. Its electric motor gets it up to a top speed of 25km/h. Its motor produces 0.3hp and 26lb-ft of torque.
The Silvretta Classic rally will be taking place at the same time on the same route.
