Mercedes W08 design slightly different than other cars

The W08 shown at Silverstone is not the final version. The final version is expected to feature a larger version of the shark fin and also to get wider and more sculpted front and rear wings. These changes are being adopted in order to respect the new regulations changes for the 2017 season.

Compared to other F1 cars revealed so far the new Mercedes W08 features a different approach to the front nose. The German team has come up with a more rounded front end instead of the thumb-tip nose adopted by Williams, Sauber, Renault and Force India.

Mercedes dominating Formula One since 2014

Since Formula One changed to the V6 turbo-hybrid engines Mercedes has been dominating the sports. It conquered three Drivers and three Constructors titles in a row with an amazing record of 51 grand prix won in the last 59 races.

Mercedes will be carrying number 1 this year but won't have a World Champion to defend the title as Nico Rosberg surprisingly decided to retire from F1 after his maiden championship win. Lewis Hamilton will be ready to reconquer his spot at the top of F1 and alongside him he will have the Finn Valtteri Bottas joining from Williams.
