versions. But it is time for the model to come to an end with the SLS AMG GT Final Edition that will launch at the Los Angeles Auto Show and the Tokyo Motor Show. AMG is also unveiling the S65 AMGMercedes-Benz S 65 AMGGermany, 2014 > present at both shows.
"The two new AMG high-performance vehicles represent the spectacular next level for our exciting model array. The S65 AMG stands for maximum exclusiveness and the unparalleled dynamism of a V12. With the SLS AMG GT Final Edition we are showing an ultimate, particularly attractive variant of our super sports car,” said Tobias Moers, AMG Chairman.
The SLS AMG GT Final Edition is limited to 350 units and is the final chance for buyers to get an SLS AMG GT. Power is kept at the same 583hp (591ps) and 479lb-ft (650Nm) with a 6.3-liter V8 from the current GT.
It has not revealed what precisely makes the Final Edition better than a standard SLS AMG GT, but it will reveal more at the auto shows on November 20.
The S65 AMG offers a 6.0-liter V12 biturbo engine with 621hp (630ps) and 738lb-ft (1,000Nm) of torque that meets EU6 emissions standards. The massive engine has enough power to get the S65 to 100km/h in 4.3 seconds and emits 279g/km of CO2 and use 11.9l/100km of fuel. The top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h. It also comes with start/stop. The only available transmission is AMG’s Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic seven-speed automatic to replace the five-speed in the previous generation.
It also has an AMG-tuned version of Mercedes’ Magic Body Control suspension that scans the road ahead with a camera to adapt the ride to the conditions before the car gets there.
