The new E43 AMG 4Matic is powered by a retuned version of Mercedes-Benz’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine, the same featured on the recently revealed SLC 43 AMGMercedes-Benz SLC 43 AMG Germany, 2016 > present, C43 AMG Coupe 4Matic and C43 AMG Convertible 4Matic. It has been added turbocharger boost pressure, revised software mapping and a two-stage exhaust. However the E43 AMG 4Matic is more powerful thanks to the larger turbochargers.

This new engine feature enabled Mercedes AMG to increase the E43 AMG 4Matic's output by 34hp to a total of 401hp, with torque of 520Nm. Power is sent to the wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Mercedes claims that the E43 AMG 4Matic can reach the 100km/h mark in 4.6 seconds and a limited top speed of 250km/h. Average consumption is 8.3l/100km with CO2 emissions of 189g/km.

To distinguish it from the remaing E-Class sedan versions, the E43 AMG 4Matic receives an AMG styling package, which includes a more heavily structured front bumper with larger air ducts, a diamond themed grille insert, wider sills, a revised rear bumper with integrated diffuser element and quad trapezoidal shaped tail pipes. 19-inch wheels are fitted as standard.

Inside the E43 AMG 4Matic gets sports seats, a flat bottom multi-function steering wheel and AMG-specific instruments.
