to get the John Cooper Works treatment, and it will be revealed at the North American International Motor Show on January 14 and 15 and go on sale worldwide in March.
To be fair, it did not take too much extra work given that the Paceman is just a two-door Countryman. The new car packs the same 218ps and 207lb-ft, 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with all-wheel drive as the Countryman as well. Transmission options include either a standard six-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic. The all-wheel drive system generally routes 100% of the power to the front wheels, except when they start to slip. Up to 100% of the power can go to the rear wheels if necessary.
The faster Paceman will get to 100km/h in 6.9 seconds and uses 7.4l/100km (7.9l/100km for the automatic), which is 31.8mpg US and 29.8mpg US or 38.2mpg imp and 35.8mpg imp.
To set it off from the rest of the Paceman line, the JCW version gets a complete body kit, 18in wheels, sport suspension that lowers the car 10mm, sport exhaust with chrome exhaust tips and either black, white or red for the roof color. The red color from the roof can also be added to the interior as an extra option.
Inside, buyers get a sport steering wheel with red stitching, grey headliner, cloth sports seats with red stitching and piano black trim. Leather and more red trim are options.
Mini has not announced a price for the John Cooper Works Paceman yet, and it will probably come closer to when the car goes on sale.
