Lamborghini is celebrating the delivery of the 4000th V12 Murciélago. An LP 670-4 SuperVeloce version for the Murciélago left recently Lamborghini’s factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese, carrying series number 4000. The vehicle is now heading to its buyer, in China.
Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann reacts to the record production saying that “The enthusiasm our products incite makes us proud and confirms that the company’s product strategy and model range are a winning combination, producing exceptionally desirable super sportscars.”
Comparing with the Lamborghini Diablo’s production of 2900 units, over eleven years, this represents a significant increase of built vehicles.
This increase is a result of an increase in sales in China. In fact, the Chinese market has gained a strategically importance for Lamborghini’s super sportscars. In China, the Italian brand has a sales affiliate and seven dealers which are responsible for the increasing sales and the Pacific-Asian area being responsible for a quarter of all Lamborghini cars produced.
This Murciélago SuperVeloce LP 670-4, which carries the series number 4000, will be delivered to Lamborghini’s showroom in Hangzhou. This SuperVeloce is a lightweight version based on the Murciélago LP 640.
