on sale in Portugal and Spain in November of this year. From there it will expand out to the rest of Europe and eventually go on sale in Turkey and Mexico. The new Toledo may look like a sedan, but the rear hatch is actually a notchback to appeal to both buyers. The Toledo will be available with an array of Volkswagen Group TSI and TDI engines.

The car has a slender trapezoidal front grill with a trapezoidal lower air intake below it. Seat says that it tried to give the new Toledo a more coupe-like roofline

"The Toledo combines great design with amazing practicality, dynamic driving fun with excellent efficiency. This is how we envisage the perfect saloon. Our customers will say: ‘That is a great car at a great price," said Seat President James Muir.

The new Toledo is 4.48m long, 4cm longer than the previous Toledo, and the wheelbase is 80mm longer than the previous Toledo.

When it is introduced, the Toledo will have three engine options. It will have the 1.2 TSI and 1.4 TSI petrol engines with 75hp and 122hp, respectively, and a 1.6l TDI with 105hp. The engines will have Ecomotive options as well that make the best emissions for the 1.2 TSI 166g/km of CO2 and the diesel will improve to 104g/km of CO2. Later, the Toledo will get a 90hp TDI variant as well.

Seat is not talking much about the interior of the new Toledo at the moment. It will include the standard front, side and head impact airbags. It will come standard with central locks, folding seats and front power windows. The higher trim levels will add more features.

"The new Toledo is a timeless personality. It combines classically modern lines with understated sporting character and a high level of everyday practicality. It is the SEAT among saloon cars, with excellent design quality in every detail,” said Head of Seat Design Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos.
