Nissan Predicts Success for Infiniti in 2012

Nissan thinks that the new Infiniti JX  when it is released later in the year will have high sales and improve the market penetration of its Infiniti brand in the US. It claims that it offers the best fuel economy among the Mercedes R350, Acura MDX and Audi Q7.

“The Infiniti JX is poised to dominate one of the largest segments in luxury, accounting for more than one out of every four luxury sales," said Ben Poore, Vice President, Infiniti Business Unit.

Infiniti is marketing the JX as a luxury family SUV. It will build them at its facility in Tennessee to keep prices low against the strong yen.

The JX will be out later in the year, and Nissan hopes that it improves Infiniti's sales in the US, which saw a 5% drop due to the tsunami in Japan last spring.
