. The entire frontend has new sheet metal. It features a chrome V-shaped grill with new accents on the hood. The fenders are reshaped and higher, and the fog lights are moved to the bottom corners of the front bumper. At the rear, the Micra has a new bumper with LED taillights.
The refreshed car gets a new 1.2-liter direct injected, supercharged gasoline engine with 97hp with stop/start that uses 4.1l/100km and emits 95g/km of CO2. Fuel economy is 4% better than the previous version. The base 1.2-liter is still available with 79hp that emits 115g/km of CO2. Both engines come with either a five-speed manual or CVT.
Inside, the Micra gets a new center console, new gloss black and silver trim, a USB input and Aux input. There is also an optional 5.8in touchscreen navigation system that can find the most fuel-efficient route and allows users to send their route to the car via Google.
Other added options include two new colors - pearl metallic Pacific Blue and metallic Platinum Sage - and new style 15in- or 16in wheels. There is also a Parking Slot Measurement system that tells the driver whether the car can fit into a spot, and there is optional I-Key with keyless entry and keyless engine start.
"New Micra boasts a huge number of significant changes over the current Micra and helps make our B-segment offering arguably the most complete in the industry. Together, New Micra, New Note - which will arrive later this year - and Juke ensure there's a Nissan for everyone in this vital segment of the market,” said Geraldine Ingham, Nissan’s head of small cars in Europe.
The refreshed Micra will be built in India, Thailand, Mexico and China. European models will come from India. Sales in Europe will begin in September.
