with a new 1.8-liter engine that gives the FE+ trim 40mpg on the highway and 39mpg highway on all the other trims. All models get 34mpg city. To achieve the high fuel economy, the new Sentra is lighter, more aerodynamic and has a new CVT gearbox. The new Sentra also has new styling more similar to the new AltimaNissan Altima 5Japan, 2013 > present7 versions

The new car weighs 150lbs less than the previous generation, a 5% reduction, but the car is slightly larger overall. The wheelbase is 0.6in longer and 2.3in longer overall. It also has shorter front and rear overhangs. The new Sentra is also 0.6in shorter and 1.2in more narrow. The interior is 0.8 cubic feet smaller than the previous gen, but it has 2.0 cubic feet more trunk space. 

The new Sentra comes with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine and CVT that produces 130hp and 128lb-ft of torque.

The car honestly looks like a small version of the new Altima. Nissan says that it is targetting slightly more wealthy buyers than the previous generation. The car has a new trapezoidal grill, wraparound headlights with LED accents and LED taillights. 

The car has a lower beltline than the previous generation, which should give drivers better visibility and makes the car look visually lighter. 

"Nowhere is the new Sentra's ‘class-above' style more evident than in the interior.  You notice it the minute you sit in the roomy, comfortable seats and when you touch the high quality materials.  And when driving you notice the extra attention paid to isolating noise, vibration and harshness from entering the cabin," said Al Castignetti, Nissan America Vice President.

The interior also offers available leather seats, dual zone climate control and navigation. 

The new Sentra is available in six trim levels: S, FE+ S, SV, FE+ SV, SR and SL trim levels. The S trim is the only one available with a six-speed manual. The SV models have cruise control and steering wheel-mounted controls. The SR gets 17in wheels, sporty front and rear fascia, lower body sills, rear spoiler, fog lights and silver interior trim. The SL gets different 17in wheels, auto headlights, heated exterior mirrors, Bluetooth and dual zone climate control.

The car will go on sale in the US later in the year.
