concept into production. It will even likely split the car into separate cabrio and crossover models.

Any success at Opel these days is seen as something to hang onto. With the success of the standard Adam, Opel wants to broaden the model range.

The electrically opening, sliding soft top is a simple addition. It follows the concept of the Fiat 500C500C 1.2 PopFiat 500C 1.2 PopItaly, 2009 > present3 photos
where the top slides along a track between the pillars. It is easy to engineer and does not need added chassis strengthening.

The crossover will have the larger wheels and bigger fenders like the concept.

"We want to build cars at Opel that normal people can afford," said Karl Thomas Neumann, Opel CEO.

The company is also working on improving in-car connectivity with its IntelliLink infotainment system.

"In-car connectivity is complete. Now, we are working on networking with the outside world and the smartphone. We have already begun to bring apps to cars in the Adam. A whole new world of communications is opening up," he said.

The Adam Rocks was a concept shown at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show that added larger fenders and a sliding cloth top to the Adam.
