Peugeot EX1 continues to break records in China

Peugeot’s 100% electric sports car concept EX1 is continuing its record breaking streak in China. In Chengdu, in front of 200 representatives of the Chinese and Western media, the EX1 matched or surpassed 5 records over a series of runs at the Chengdu military airport in the province of Sichuan.

On the occasion two drivers symbolizing the Franco-Chinese friendship were behind the wheel of the 100% electric concept car. The first was Han Han, driver, writer and China's most popular blogger who has a massive fan base among the country's urban youth. France was represented by Nicolas Vanier, French explorer, film-maker and driver who has a fascination for the Poles and is an environment defender.

Han Han was responsible for the pulverization of the official records initially set in Montlhéry for 1/8 mile and 1/4 mile with times of 7’’08’’’62’’’’ and 12’’67’’’54’’’’ respectively.

Thanks to the Chinese Auto Sports Federation these records were certified, by validating the quality and accuracy of measurements made.

As for Nicolas Vanier, the French achieved unofficial records for 0 to 100 km/h, in 3.49 seconds, and for the 400 m. He also managed to achieve the symbolic longitudinal acceleration of 1G, over 39 m.

The series of records is another proof of the advanced, high-tech know-how of Peugeot when it comes to alternative propulsion methods for a car, as the EX1 establishes benchmark in terms of acceleration for an electric vehicle.
