has used the Paris Motor Show to debut its concept for an estate version of the Panamera. The Panamera Sport Turismo is a five-door estate using a 3.0-liter V6 with a hybrid powertrain.
The engine is a modified version of the hybrid powertrain found in the current Panamera S HybridPorsche Panamera S HybridGermany, 2011 > present6 photos
. The V6 produces 333hp, and the electric motor makes 95hp. The total system output is 416hp compared to 380hp in the Panamera S Hybrid. It can drive in full electric mode at speeds up to 130km/h for 30km. The electric motor alone produces 95hp, which is almost twice as much as the electric motor in the current Panamera hybrid. Porsche estimates the car would use 3.5l/100km and produce 82g/km of CO2. It would accelerate to 100km/h in less than six seconds. A button on the steering wheel lets the driver choose to use the internal combustion engine to recharge the battery.
From the B-pillar forward, the Sport Turismo is sharper than a standard Panamera. The nose appears to come to a sharper point, and the headlights are more angular LED units. The twin hood lines also appear to be sharper on the concept. The running lights and turn signals are integrated into the blades below the headlights. There are no conventional side mirrors. Instead the car uses rear facing cameras with an interior display screen. The changes really come to the roofline and hatchback in the rear half of the car. The hatch has wraparound continuous LED taillights. The rear spoiler adjusts during driving to improve aerodynamics as needed. The roof is made from electrochromatic glass that tints at the press of a button. The Turismo Sport is 1990mm wide, 1401mm high and 4950mm long.
The interior uses touch displays for the instruments. This can be toggled to display the side view mirror cameras, charge information, tachometer, range and more. A center touchscreen display shows navigation and infotainment information.
Porsche has been rumored to be developing a Panamera wagon for most of the summer, and this appears to be the car. While Porsche calls the car a concept for now, it is very possible that it could go into production.
