Anticipating the scheduled date for the official presentation,
Renault unveiled the new
Twingo GT, a sportier version of the rear-wheel drive city car from the French brand.
Twingo GT is equipped with a more powerful version of the three-cylinder turbocharged 0.9 liter engine with 110hp and torque of 170Nm. This increase in power and torque, 20hp and 34Nm more, was possible thanks to the restructuring of the air intake and new engine mapping. Although official numbers are yet to be revealed, the Twingo GT should be able to reach 100km/h in about 8.5 seconds.
In terms of design the Twingo GT was inspired on the 2013
Twin'Run concept, with the most explicit feature being stripes applied to the vehicle painting. The 17' alloy wheels and dual exhaust give a more sporty touch to the Twingo GT. Other distinctive elements include door sills with Renault Sport logo, aluminum pedals and a metal gear lever knob.
The premiere of the Twingo GT is scheduled for the Goodwood Festival on the 23rd of June.
