Rolls-Royce changed its badge for the first time in 108 years on the three cars featured during the Olympic Closing Ceremonies. The new badges were created by Rolls-Royce Bespoke Design Team and show the Spirit of Ecstasy with the Union Jack.
The three cars during the Olympic Closing Ceremonies were Phantom Series II Drophead Coupes painted English White. Other additions to these three cars were a laurel wreath on the steering wheel center, 'London 2012' and the Olympic motto ‘Citius, Altius, Fortius’ on the wheel centers. The door treadplates had "One of Three' written on them with laurels on each side.
“I am delighted that Rolls-Royce Motor Cars was invited to take part in celebrating the success of the Games and it is appropriate that we should recognise this occasion with a fitting tribute. These unique cars were hand built at the Home of Rolls‑Royce at Goodwood by our dedicated and passionate workforce and the whole team can take great pride in their part in making history for our company," said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Rolls-Royce Chief Executive.
