Introduced in 2009, the Seat Exeo, which is based on the previous generation Audi A4 chassis, will already be getting an exterior refresh next year. It also gets new versions of the TDI diesel engines to improve emissions.
The refreshed Exeo gets a subtly restyled front end with new LED running lights and bi-xenon headlights. As opposed to the slats on the previous grill, the new grill uses a honeycomb design.
The interior gets some small changes as well. It gets new upholstery and a new leather-covered steering wheel.
The diesel engines in the Exeo will all be cleaner for 2012. CO2 emissions are down 7g/km, which brings the 120hp and 143hp versions below 130g/km. Fuel efficiency also improves to 5.2l/100km of diesel.
Seat plans to add start/stop technology to the Exeo in late 2012, which it claims will bring emissions below 120g/km.
These changes will go into effect for the 2012 model year, but Seat did not say when the refreshed model will be in showrooms or if the updates will cause any adjustment in price.
