"I already drove a smaller formula car and now I will try to organize a test to drive a Formula 3 car to make a step, and then we can see," said Ogier.

Ogier currently leads the WRC Driver's World Championship but has never raced in an open-wheel car. He did a one-off race in the Porsche Supercup in Monaco and finished 13th. He finished tenth in the Acropolis Rally over the weekend, his worst performance this season. 

Vettel and Ogier discussed swapping rides during the Grand Prix of Monaco. 

"He loves rallying as well and he is very interested to try the Polo," said Ogier.
