the sports car maker that builds custom BMW-engined roadsters has left the company meaning that there is no longer anyone with the name of Wiesmann working at Wiesmann.

Martin Wiesman who still headed the company's engineering department Has resigned from the company that bears his name. His brother, Friedhelm, left the company earlier in the year. No reason has been given for either brother to leave the company.

Wiesmann was founded in the mid-1980s by the two brothers to build exclusive, bespoke roadsters. All of the models carry the name MF after the two first initials of the two brothers. In 30 years since being founded, they have sold over 1,500 cars.

The first Wiesmann was the MF30MF30Wiesmann MF30Germany, 2005 > present1 photo

that used the same chassis but a 3.2-liter six cylinder from the BMW M3 with 343ps. It took 12 years for them to introduce the MF4MF4Wiesmann MF4Germany, 2009 > present6 photos
in 2003, which was still a roadster, but used a 4.8-ilter BMW V8 with 367ps. The MF5MF5Wiesmann MF5Germany, 2007 > present8 photos

It is sad, but it is often the case that founders have to leave their company... By the way, Wiesmann produces coupes as well, not just roadsters.
