Tata Motors has released the Indica eV2, which the brand claims to be the most fuel efficient car in India. The car, powered by the CR4 diesel engine has a mileage of 25 km/l. The Indica eV2 is the successor of the Indica, India's favourite hatchback.
The all new CR4 Common Rail Diesel engine featuring on the Indica eV2 has a displacement of 1396 cc and delivers 70 PS @ 4000 RPM. The Indica eV2 also gets improved torque of 140 NM at a lower 1800-3000 RPM, improvements in the gear ratios, starter motor protection and reduction in the weight of the car by around 10 kg.
The Indiva eV2 will also be available with the MPFI petrol engine, offering a wider choice to customers.
In order to achieve the 25 km/l mileage, Tata used some technological improvements, which include a smart EMS (Engine Management System) that optimizes the functionality of the engine, the maximization of charge combustion and drag reduction.
The Indica eV2 had its driveability improved and features the Auto-Drive Assist, which ensures that while climbing a gradient the engine will not stall, and the Clutch-To-Start technology that prevents the engine from cranking unless the clutch is fully engaged.
The exterior styling was also enhanced with sporty alloy wheels, decals, a new tail light cluster and rear bumper.
