The Space Shuttle Endeavour arrived at the California Science Center on September 21, but it will be towed to the California Science Center on October 13 not by any type of special vehicle, but a 2012 Toyota Tundra CrewMaxToyota Tundra Grade 5.7LUnited States of America, 2010 > present1 photo
1/2-ton pickup with a 5.7-liter V8. The truck will have with no modifications. Toyota certifies its towing capacity at 10,000 pounds, or 1/30 of the Endeavour's weight.
However, the Tundra will not be towing the car the entire way. It only has to go by road for the last 12 miles between Los Angeles International Airport and the science center, and the Tundra will only tow it the last quarter mile. It is still quite a feat, as the Endeavour weighs 300,000lbs.

has worked with The Sarens Group, an engineered transport company to develop a dolly for towing the Space Shuttle.
The truck will be on display at the science center when the Endeavour exhibit opens on October 30.
