could charitably be called an interesting failure. Volvo created a uniquely styled three-door hatchback. The problem was the car could never quite decide what it wanted to be. Volvo sold 210,000 C30s worldwide from 2006 to 2013 and has decided to give the final one away in the UK, where it was especially popular. It has set up the website Last Ever C30, and the contest to give the final one away will begin on June 13, 2013. The contest will have the car travelling from Gothenburg, Sweden, to an undisclosed location in the UK. Each tweet posed with the #LastEverC30 hash tag enters the user for the chance to win the car and other prizes. Participants will have to discover the car's location by solving four clues and whoever gets there first wins the car.

at the North American International Auto Show, and the production version debuted at the Paris Motor Show in September 2006.

In its brief life, the car spawned a variety of incarnations. Volvo really tried whatever it could to make the C30 a success. There were multiple performance versions including the Evolve tuner cars at SEMA and Polestar C30. It even won back-to-back drivers' and teams' championships in 2009 and 2010 in the Swedish Touring Car Championship. It also briefly raced in the World Touring Car Championship.

The car also tried to show its green credentials with limited runs for a plug-in hybrid and pure electric versionsC30 Electric ConceptVolvo C30 Electric ConceptSweden, 2009 > present4 photos
