Williams Signs Felipe Massa for 2014 F1 Season

has announced that it has signed Felipe Massa for the 2014 F1 season. It said that Massa will have a multi-year contract but did not give the exact length. Valtteri Bottas will be the team’s second driver. Williams calls Massa’s signing an example of its “determination to bring success back to the team.”

“We are delighted to be able to confirm our 2014 driver line-up and welcome Felipe into the Williams family. He is an exceptional talent and a real fighter on the racetrack, “ said Sir Frank Williams.

“With such a major change of regulations in 2014, I hope my experience will be useful in helping the team in its effort to move on from a difficult period,” said Massa

Claire Williams, the deputy team principal, said that the team has more announcements ready for the coming weeks but did not go into any details.

Williams is hoping that it can return to its old form next year or at least move up on the grid.
