Introduced first as a model for the Japanese market only in 1998, the Nissan Cube is a mini MPV produced by Japanese automaker Nissan and now sold in export markets such as North America and Europe.
Designated Z10, the first generation of the Nissan Cube was introduced in Japan in 1998. At the time it shared the same platform as the Nissan Micra. It was only sold in Japan, though privately exported to United Kingdom, Australia and Hong Kong.
The second generation was unveiled in 2002 and was offered with a larger interior than the previous model. The new Cube was based on the third generation of the Micra, with a combination of angled and curved surfaces.
The third generation Nissan Cube had its world debut at the Los Angeles International Auto Show. For the first time in its history, the Cube began being offered for export markets, including Europe and North America. This generation is built based on the Renault Nissan Alliance's front-wheel-drive B platform.
