The NV400 is a van debuted at the 2010 IAA in Hannover. Marketed by Nissan and developed in a joint venture with Renault and Opel, the name NV400 stands for "Nissan Vehicles", a name already adopted in previous models.

The model has been manufactured since the summer of 2010 in Luton at GM Manufacturing Luton and in Barcelona at Nissan Motor Ibérica.
