In 2010 Opel performed a visual and technological facelift on its compact crossover, the Antara. The refreshed model came with new styling but also with a new lineup of engines. The new range of engines included a newly developed common-rail diesel engine with 2.2-liters displacement and a 2.4-liter gasoline engine.
The common-rail diesel engine has and an output of 135kw/184hp. On the 184 hp diesel version the all-wheel drive system comes as standard and customers can choose between a manual and an automatic transmission. Compared to the older versions, the new engines saw their agility and driving dynamics increased, while the fuel consumption and emissions have been reduced. All of the engines are Euro 5 compliant. To match the new engines, the newly tuned chassis offers a combination of dynamic handling and suspension comfort.
In terms of exterior design, the updated Antara features a newly designed front grille with the trademark Opel chrome bar, new fog lamps, adapted underride protection, modified rear lights and large-format, 19-inch alloy wheels. The inside has been fitted with new paneling and upholstery materials, updated instrument graphics, a new center console, additional storage space as well as new interior lighting.
