The new Zafira Tourer's production version was showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011 and it is Opel's new low emission diesel engine. The new engine will be available shortly after the launch of the new 7 seat mini-MPV this autumn.
The 2.0CDTI will emit 119 g/km Co2 while still producing 130hp and 300 Nm. The 2 litre common rail diesel engine encompasses Opel’s ecoFLEX technologies including its Start/Stop-System, improved aerodynamics also contribute to the fuel consumption. It is linked to a wide ration 6 speed manual gearbox, aimed at increased fuel efficiency.
The new engine propels the Zafira Tourer past 100 km/h in 11.4 seconds and on to 193 km/h. However, its real strength should lie in the availability of all 300 Nm of torque between 1750 and 2500 rpm.
