The 2008 was revealed at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. It is a compact crossover based on the 208 and is 4.16m long and 1.74m wide and does not bare many similarities to the 208 that it is based on. The two cars have similar grills and taillights, but the rest of the 2008 is unique. It has a higher stance than the 208 with large amount of glass area and aluminum roof rails. The body gets extra protection from larger, black bumpers and side trim. It rides on 17in wheels.

Inside, drivers get Peugeot’s new Grip Control traction control dial that lets them tune the system to the conditions. Higher-level trims will get chrome accents and a more high-end look for the dashboard.

The engine range of the 2008 is broad to say the least. Peugeot offers nine engine tunes among four engines in the crossover.  The new 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine gets four tunes with between 82hp and 130hp and emissions between 99g/km of CO2 and 114g/km of CO2. The 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engine has a single option with 120hp and 135g/km of CO2 emissions. For diesel engines, the 2008 gets a single version of the 1.4 HDI with 68hp and 104g/km of CO2 emissions or three tunes of the 1.6 HDI with between 92hp and 115hp and emissions between 98g/km of CO2 and 106g/km of CO2.
