Just two months after the unveiling of the new 911 generation at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Porsche revealed the first Cabriolet versions of the 991 series.
The Carrera Cabrio PDK is powered by a 3.4-litre flat engine generating an output to the rear wheels of 350 hp (257 kW) via a seven-gear manual transmission.
The new 911 Cabriolet follows the same architecture as the Coupé with the new new aluminium-steel body. It further innovates in the roof concept where the roof line of the Coupé model is retained in its entirety. Thanks to an intelligent lightweight design, even including the use of magnesium in the hood, Porsche has ensured less weight and more sportiness, lower fuel consumption and greater comfort. The German brand has also managed to cut the weight of the new Cabrio versions significantly, compared to its predecessors.
According to Porsche the new Cabriolets offer even sportier driving characteristics, greater precision and agility, thanks to the longer wheelbase, the wider front track and the new electro-mechanical power steering.
