Porsche unveiled at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show an improved version of the Cayenne GTS. After having brought back to Poprsche the GTS acronym in 2007, the Cayenne GTS got an even more powerful.
The Cayenne GTS engine received a 3.6-liter V6 twin turbo, the same that powered the Cayenne S. Compared to the V8 engine that equipped the previous GTS version, the version saw its output increase 20hp, for a total of 440hp and torque increase to 600Nm, 85Nm more. However Porsche managed to reduce fuel consumption by 0.9l/100km to 10l/100km.
In terms of performance the new Cayenne GTS reaches 100km/h in 5.2 seconds, 5.1 seconds if equipped with the Sport Chrono package. Compared to the previous version acceleration it means an improvement of 0.5 and 0.6 seconds respectively. The sports exhaust system gives the GTS a very distinctive sound.
The Cayenne GTS is equipped with Porsche's PASM damping system with a more sporty configuration. The vehicle is equipped with the brakes from the Cayenne Turbo with 390mm front discs and 358mm at the rear, with red painted calipers.
In terms of design the Cayenne GTS gets other modifications that make it a more sporty vehicle. Among them the large air intakes from the Sport Design package at the front, the more rounded side sills and the extensions of the wheel arches. The latter together with the roof spoiler and lower body have been painted in the car's body color. There are also some visible contrast cues in the Cayenne GTS. All lettering, 20 inch RS Spyder wheels, the exhaust tips, the internal openings of the bi-xenon headlights and LED rear fittings are painted black to ensure a striking new look.
Inside the Cayenne GTS gets sports seats in leather and Alcantara with eight electronically adjustable positions, while the headrests have the acronym GTS sewn. The Alcantara is the main material used to trim the new Cayenne GTS.
