Porsche unveiled the Cayman GTS in 2014 with an improved engine and PASM suspension.
The redesigned front and modified rear, the darkened bi-xenon headlights and model logo abroad in gloss black were some of the small changes in design for the GTS.
The six-cylinder boxer engine of the Cayman GTS is based on the 3.4 engine of the Cayman S. Thanks to new optimization and tuning, Porsche has managed to increase the power by 15hp. This means that the Cayman GTS has a power of 340hp. The Sport Chrono Package is fitted as standard meaning that with the optional PDK box and Sport Plus mode activated, the Cayman GTS accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. With regard to maximum speed the Cayman can reach 285km/h. The GTS is the first two-seat mid-engine model from Porsche to be certified according to Euro 6 standards, achieving an average fuel consumption, with the PDK, of 8.2 l/100 km (9.0 l/100km with the manual gearbox).
With the combination of PASM and Sport Chrono Package as standard, the Cayman GTS allows the driver to switch between sporty damping and, secondly, the rolling comfort when traveling long distances by just pressing a button. The version comes standard with sports seats and leather interior. As in other versions of Porsche GTS the vehicle receives some trim in Alcantara.
With this version, Porsche extends the GTS concept to the Cayman. The combination of letters debuted with the 904 Carrera GTS, a racing model from 1963 which was also street legal. In the 1980s and 1990s, the 924 GTS and the 928 GTS cultivated this principle. Reborn in 2007 with the Cayenne GTS it was later implemented in the 911 and the Panamera.
