Mikrus was a micro-car produced by WSK-1 Mielec, headquartered in Mielec, Poland. The Company produced aircraf  and other non-aviation equipment. In 1956 WSK-1 Mielec expanded its range of manufacture to the automobile industry and launched the Mikrus MR-300, with the intention to build a small, low fuel consumption family car (two adults and two children). Mikrus were of good quality and quite endurable, some of them being still on the road. High production costs lead to the end of this brand. The Mikrus can be seen at the Muzeum Motoryzacji in Warsaw. The plant were the Mikrus were being built can still be seen in Mielec.
