The sixth generation of the Quattroporte was officialy unveiled in Detroit at the 2013 NAIAS. The new gen is powered by a twin-turbo, direct injected V6 and a twin-turbo, direct injected V8.
The 3.0-liter, twin-turbo V6 uses Chrysler's Pentastar V6 for the block, but it will be the first time that the engine will be sold in a turbocharged configuration. It will produce 404hp and 406lb-ft of torque with a top speed of 177mph and an estimated 0-60mph time of 5.1 seconds. The twin-turbo V6 will be the base engine. It will be available in rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.
The optional engine will be the 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V8 with 523hp and 479lb-ft of torque. It will be equipped with a temporary overboost function that will boost torque to 524lb-ft. The car's top speed will be 191mph, and the 0-60mph will be about 4.7 seconds. At launch, rear-wheel drive will be the only option.
