The success reached with last year’s edition moved Renault to introduce a new, numbered, limited edition version of the Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet Floride.
The main difference between the regular versions is found on the state-of-the-art performance and equipment, combined with a design concept which recalls the aura of the legendary Floride model of the 1960s.
The Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet Floride brings everyone back to the 60s where the Floride epitomized the appeal and freedom of the day’s new pleasure-seeking lifestyle. For 2012 the Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet Floride gets a touch of the 60s with a new, two-tone red and ivory leather upholstery. The limited edition will make its first public appearance at the Brussels Motor Show on January 10, 2012.
The touch of chic is given to the Floride Limited Edition through the high-gloss, piano black panoramic roof which contrasts with the car’s classic Floride Ivory livery. This version also includes 17-inch Sari aluminium alloy diamond-effect wheels, also finished in ivory, and retro-style Floride badging on the front wings. The model name has been cast in a chromed 3D font typical of the era and is also visible on the lower bodyside just ahead of the rear wheel arches.
Inside the Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet Floride pays the tribute to the original Floride through the red and ivory leather. The seat facings are trimmed in red leather, with the side bolsters picked out in ivory. The steering wheel has also been wrapped in two-tone red/ivory leather. The dashboard has also received a red touch with an ivory trim strip and features the Floride name in chrome letters. The spherical metal gear lever knob and the edged carpet have both been inscribed with an “f”.
The Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet Floride is powered by a dCi 130 DPF engine combined with a six-speed manual gearbox.
