Developed with the help of Renault Sport Technologies, the French brand launched in 2010 two new sporting versions of the New Mégane: the GT and GT Line. The two lines are available in all body types that are part of the Mégane family: Hatchback, Coupé, Estate and Coupé-Cabriolet.

Besides the distinctive style these new versions offer increased performance to the Mégane and close the gap between the mainstream model and the performance credentials of Mégane R.S. Featuring a specific chassis and powered by the Mégane’s core-range of economical and ecological engines the GT Line is a Sport Pack which is available as an option on Mégane Dynamique equipment level versions. Customers looking to combine affordable, fuel-efficient performance are suited with the Mégane GT Line variety of engines. The version offers a range of four petrol and six diesel engines, with the majority being Euro5 compliant and qualifying for Renault eco²-criteria.

Both the GT and GT Line feature a bumper that has received a reshaped central air intake incorporating a gloss black centre section that supports the registration plate. The foglamps are housed in profiled, dark metal-coloured recesses on either side of the bumper. At the rear end the lower section of the rear bumper incorporates an aerodynamic diffuser.

Many details incorporated in the GT Line and the GT versions are shared with the Mégane R.S. For example the front seats with additional lateral support on the seat back and cushion, the aluminium-faced pedal set and the dashboard which incorporates analogue rev-counter.

The Mégane GT Line will have a 'GT Line' badging on the grille and tailgate and will be fitted with Dark Metalcoloured 17-inch Celsium wheels. The door mirror housings are finished with a Dark Metal color and in the interior the 'GT Line' badging can also be seen on the dashboard trim strip, head rests and front door sills.
