In 2010 Renault Sport presented a new rally car based on the Mégane Renaultsport. The N4 takes the chassis and engine of the Mégane R.S. to the rallies with private teams and drivers as intended customers.

Renault Sport Technologies, the only manufacturer to offer a full ‘rally’ range based on group R regulations, developed the Mégane Renaultsport N4 to race on asphalt. With group N regulations imposing strict rules on the modifications that can be made to the original car, the Renaultsport N4 makes full use of the technology of the production model.

Based on the PerfoHub independent steering-axis front suspension design, engineers developed a chassis that combines traction, directional stability and driving comfort. By using three-way adjustable shock absorbers the Renaultsport N4 can be adapted to all types of driving style.

The Mégane Renaulsport N4 is powered by a 2.0-litre 16V turbo engine, which has been tuned with an optimised electronic engine control system. The engine develops 265 hp of power and torque of 470 Nm, and is fitted with a five-speed H-pattern gearbox, developed specifically for this purpose.
The Renaultsport N4 is sold by Renault Sport Technologies in the form of a kit comprising all the specific parts.
