Review

The Renault Mégane R.S. Trophy is an upgraded version of the Mégane R.S. The edition is limited to 500 cars, and this version features 265hp and 360Nm, an increase of 15hp and 20Nm compared to the previous version.

The increased power is achieved with an improved turbo that produces 2.5bar, .2bar higher than the old model. Efficiency of the new R.S. Trophy has been improved to 8.2 liters/100km in the combined-cycle and 190g of CO/km, less 0.2 liters/100km and 5g of CO2/km.

The R.S. Trophy retains the Cup chassis found on the older model but uses Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires. Renault claims that the tires improve wet and dry handling.

On the exterior the RS Trophy features a lip spoiler, 19in wheels, specific decals, a black roof and a numbered plaque. Sirius Yellow is available exclusively as a color option on the new car.

Orders for the R.S. Trophy begin on June 20, 2011, in France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia for €35,500.

The lap time bested the previous best for a front-wheel drive car of 8m17s that had been set by a Renault Megane R26.R.
