Facelift 2013

Renault brings a refreshed Scenic to the Geneva Motor Show in March 2013 and a new variant called the Scenic XMOD that combines the Scenic MPV with a compact crossover.

Scenic

The Scenic gets a major refresh for the Geneva Motor Show that is meant to make Renault's MPV range more modern. The update to the Scenic and Grand Scenic get Renault's new front end and new engine options. The new Scenic offers 555 liters of interior storage and 71 extra liters of storage pockets all over the car.

All of the versions of the Scenic are available with the Energy TCe 130 engine that is 15% or 1l/100km more fuel efficient than the engine it replaces.

The interior upgrades include a reworked interior design with spots dedicated for navigation and multimedia systems.

Scenic XMOD

The XMOD borrows the platform from the Scenic but comes with a new Extended Grip traction control system. It also gets a taller ride height, alloy wheels and the Energy TCe 130 engine.

The XMOD also gets unique front and rear bumpers, side sill guards and chrome roof bars.

Inside, the car gets Renault's new Extended Grip traction control system that is controlled by a rotary controller in the cockpit. There is also a new TFT display. Renault is also offering its R-Link infotainment system. Other interior upgrades for the XMOD include a flat-bottomed steering wheel, aluminum-capped pedals and an available leather and Alcantara interior.

Extended Grip lets the driver select from a variety of traction settings - expert, road and loose ground. Loose ground manages the braking and engine torque for optimum grip at low speed. Extended grip manages the braking but leaves the engine up to the driver. Road mode is conventional traction control that comes on automatically about 40km/h.

The XMOD comes with all the interior storage from the Scenic.
