The RUF RGTs are modiefied versions of Porsche’s 996 and 997 models. In the binning of the millenum, RUF began with the modification of the 996 and launched the first RGT, equipped with a 3.6 litre engine producing 385 HP (283kW). A second version followed in 2004, based on the Porsche 997. It featured a naturally aspirated 3.8 litre engine delivering 445 HP (327kW).
The latest version of the RGT, the RGT-8, was announced in 2010, based on the current Porsche 911, and production is set to begin in 2011. The V8 engine has an output of 550 HP (404 kW) at 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 369 lbs.ft (500 Nm) at 5400 rpm.
