The second generation A5 is an evolution of its predecessor but it brings a more athletic and lower reinterpreted design.   The main new features in the exterior design include a wider and lower positioned grille, newly shaped headlights including LED daytime running lights with complex graphics and with turning signals dynamic function, a longer hood and even larger wheelarches.   At the rear changes took place in the more angular windscreen which, the flatter roof and more proeminent shoulders with a line that runs throughout the vehicle length. Finally, the doors feature a larger structure in the lower section and the new design of the rear lights complete the batch of updates.   With a new version of the Audi MLB platform, the new A5 Coupe has wider axles, a longer wheelbase, but it is still up to 60kg lighter than its predecessor. The final figures have not yet been revealed by the German brand, but the achieved drag coefficient is 0.25.   Inside the A4 was the inspiration for the A5 thanks to high quality materials, as well as the dashboard which gives a feeling of greater width, keeping the premium feel of the previous generation. The new coupé load capacity increased by 10 liters to a total of 465 liters and the seats can be folded down through levers placed in the trunk.   The engine range for the second generation Audi A5 featured a two petrol and three diesel which according to the German brand offer up to 17% more power and reduced fuel consumption by 22%. The latest evolution of the Audi turbocharged 2.0 four-cylinder engine was featured in the range with 190hp or with a bolder version with 252hp.   The diesel range features a 190hp version of the 2.0-liter four-cylinder and also two versions of the V6 3.0-liter engine with 218 and 272hp. The 218hp version was available with front or all-wheel drive and comes standard with a manual six-speed gearbox that could optionally be replaced by a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic. The 272hp version was equipped as standard with quattro all-wheel drive system and an eight-speed automatic transmission.   The top-range S5 was equipped with the 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine with 354hp, 21hp more than its predecessor. Audi says the S5 could reach 100km/h in 4.7 seconds, an improvement of 0.7s compared to the previous model. Consumption was improved and is now 7.3l/100km.
