Ford launched a mid-engined supercar in 2003 which they called Ford GT as a way of honouring the company’s legendary racing car of the 1960’s, the GT40. This high-performance model was produced in a limited quantity for the period of three years at Ford’s plant in Troy, Michigan, United States. The company bet on the Ford GT to revitalize the legacy once brought by the Mustang and the Thunderbird models.
