History, Development and General Characteristics

The Continental received its last mechanic and aesthetic retouches in 1993, when Bentley put out its fourth and last generation.
The car now began being produced at the new Rolls-Royce facility in Crewe, as the former Mulliner Park Ward was shut down.
In its last year of production, 1996, the Continental was delivered in 25 Turbocharged versions that were dubbed ‘Corniche S’.

Bentley Continental 4th generation cars are powered by the same front-mounted 6.75-liter V8 engine that was used on all previous generations.
The rear-wheel drive car runs on a 4-speed automatic transmission.

Body and Design

Bentley Continentals were sold in the form of 2-door coupes. The sole most noticeable exterior improvement from the previous generations of the Continental is the use of a glass rear window, replacing old plastic one.
