The Joys of Sega's Outrun
The videogame publisher Sega had a fantastic decade of creating some of the best arcade games ever. From about 1985 to about 1995, arguably around 2000, Sega pumped out success after success in the arcades.
Among the best and most iconic was Outrun, which placed the player in a Ferrari Testarossa alongside a hot blond on a beautiful road. Two things made the game special. The music was fantastic, and for the time, and in a more artistic way even today, the graphics were great. Sega layered digital sprites to make the game appear it was in 3D.
This video is from an artist called Jordan F who created this synthesizer heavy track and matched it to Outrun.
The music is great, and so is the game, but my only gripe about the video is that the arcade game is short enough, that it might have been better to be a complete run of the game from beginning to end.
